#SOCCER~Brunei royalty Faiq Jefri Bolkiah leaves Chelsea for Leicester deal

TITLE hopefuls Leicester have wrapped up a surprise three-year deal for Chelsea starlet Faiq Jefri Bolkiah.

The 17-year-old was out of contract at Stamford Bridge, and the Foxes are hoping he can build on his potential by pushing for a place in the first-team squad.

But Bolkiah isn’t your average footballer – he is the nephew of the Sultan of Brunei.

The royal winger has enjoyed previous spells with Arsenal and Reading, and Leicester will be hoping he can become their future jewel in the crown.

Bolkiah confirmed his move to the King Power Stadium on Instagram, saying: “Happy to announce I have signed a long-term professional contract at @lcfc.

“Would like to thank all my family and close friends for all the support. Was also a pleasure meeting the owner himself. Can’t wait to get started.”

Leicester’s pre-summer spending may not stop with Bolkiah – Claudio Ranieri is reportedly looking to sign Roma legend Francesco Totti.

The 39-year-old has made just a handful of appearances this season and has been linked with a move to the MLS.

But Leicester are hopeful that potential Premier League glory could tempt Totti to try his luck in another top-flight competition for one more year.[The Sun]
